About Us

Who We Are:
We are a collective of creative woodworkers.

We are focused not only on functionality, but also on the esthetic. We focus on using multiple inlay techniques to incorporate into wood. Drawing on our experience with textile printing, we are able to create a unique approach to our work.

Artist Collaborations:
Joseph Abramowitz - Prints

I am a wood-based artist, specializing in the craft of woodworking. My work explores the relationship between the beauty of wood grain, and decorative techniques that can be used to enhance and express elements of nature.

Inspired by the ripples of the lake or the strength of the trees, I take my inspiration from the Laurentians, north of Montreal, where I reside.

For 40 years, running a family garment business, I was lucky to be able to explore the world, throughout Europe and Asia, from Italy to China. I had the privilege of working with the finest textile silk weavers and printers. Starting in the 1990’s, technology evolved to the digital, allowing new applications to emerge. So, being the curious soul I am, I started experimenting. First with printing on leather, and then starting in 2015, printing on wood.

Every project starts with the selection of the wood, a careful analysis of the grain, and its properties. Then individual designs are digitally created to blend and enhance each individual piece. As each piece of wood is a living, breathing part of nature, each design must compliment the wood. Eventually, using a technique developed our of a lot of trial and error, a way was found to print on the surface of the wood.

Thus, my worlds blended and fused. My love for nature, textile design, and love for wood merged into what I do.

But the best part of it all, is that there is never a rush. It takes as long as it takes. It is more than a way nurture creativity. It is my…meditation.
